Stainless Steel Tank Base Preparation Guide
It is essential that your tank base is properly prepared before delivery. A full water tank is extremely heavy, with every 1,000 litres of water weighing approximately one tonne. Your base needs to be flat, level, stable and capable of fully supporting the tank without sinking, tilting or eroding over time. The tank must be fully supported with no part of the tank overhanging the base.
For the most secure and low-maintenance installation, we highly recommend a reinforced concrete base. The manufacturer also permits other correctly prepared base types, including concrete pavers, engineered tank stands and crusher dust in suitable applications. However, Tank Shop highly recommends avoiding using crusher dust, particularly for Slimline Tanks and smaller Round Tanks. Crusher dust requires careful preparation and ongoing maintenance and can be vulnerable to erosion, heavy rain and burrowing animals.
Incorrect or unstable base preparation can damage your tank and may void the manufacturer's warranty. Please read the Stainless Steel Tank Base Preparation Guide (PDF) carefully and make sure your base complies with the manufacturer's requirements before delivery.
Installation Guides
