Water Tank Cleaning

State Government health departments advise cleaning the sludge out your rainwater tanks every 2–3 years as part of proper tank maintenance. Hiring a professional cleaner to do this can be expensive. Thankfully a range of products exist to vacuum out sediment from your tank and minimise this problem.

What is “Sludge”? Over time fine sediment and bits of organic matter find their way into a water tank, even through strainers and screens. This settles at the bottom eventually turning into a dark and thick sticky substance referred to as “sludge”.
