Clark Tanks products are backed by a manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty periods vary depending on the product type, intended use and specific gravity (SG) rating.
The following information summarises the key warranty provisions. Customers should read the full Clark Tanks Certificate of Warranty (PDF) for complete terms, conditions and exclusions.
Clark Tanks Warranty Periods
| Product Type | Manufacturer Warranty |
|---|---|
| Round Water Tanks (SG ≤ 1.0) | 25 Years* |
| Slimline Water Tanks (SG ≤ 1.0) | 10 Years* |
| Storage Tanks (SG > 1.0 and ≤ 1.5) | 5 Years |
| Storage Tanks (SG > 1.5) | 3 Years |
| Agricultural Products (Troughs & Feeders) | 5 Years |
| Ancillary Products (Pumps, Fittings & Accessories) | 1 Year† |
* For SG ≤ 1.0 tanks, the manufacturer’s warranty is limited to 5 years for non-residential use and/or where fittings, accessories or modifications are additional to, or exceed, Clark Tanks’ standard inclusions. See important conditions below.
† Ancillary products are covered for 1 year unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer in writing.
All warranty periods commence from the date of purchase by the original purchaser and are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.
Important: Commercial Use & Additional Fittings
For polyethylene storage tanks rated SG ≤ 1.0, the manufacturer’s warranty is limited to 5 years where the tank:
- Is used for non-residential, commercial, industrial or agricultural purposes; and/or
- Has fittings, accessories or modifications installed that are additional to, or exceed, Clark Tanks’ published standard inclusions at the time of purchase.
Under Clark Tanks’ manufacturer’s warranty, these circumstances reduce the applicable warranty period to 5 years, even where the tank would otherwise qualify for a 25-year or 10-year warranty.
What Does the Warranty Cover?
The Clark Tanks manufacturer’s warranty covers defects or faults attributable to defective materials or workmanship, subject to the manufacturer’s conditions.
Where a qualifying defect is established, Clark Tanks may, at its discretion, repair the product or provide a replacement of comparable specification.
Important: Where a replacement is supplied, the manufacturer’s contribution is calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the original purchase price and the remaining warranty period. The warranty does not necessarily provide a full-value replacement throughout its duration.
Important Warranty Conditions
To maintain eligibility under the manufacturer’s warranty, customers must comply with the applicable conditions, including:
- Proof of purchase: Retain your tax invoice or receipt as evidence of purchase.
- Correct installation: Tanks must be installed on a suitable base in accordance with Clark Tanks’ written installation instructions.
- Appropriate use: Standard SG ≤ 1.0 water tanks are designed for potable water storage at temperatures not exceeding 40°C. Higher-SG tanks must only be used for compatible substances approved by the manufacturer.
- Proper maintenance: Tank bases, fittings, pipework, inlets and overflows must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
- Original purchaser: The manufacturer’s warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your Clark Tanks product has developed a manufacturing defect, please notify Tank Shop or Clark Tanks promptly.
Under the manufacturer’s warranty claim procedure:
- Notify the manufacturer within 7 days of the fault or defect occurring. The manufacturer must be given an opportunity to inspect the product within 28 days.
- Complete the manufacturer’s warranty claim form, available through the Clark Tanks website.
- Provide supporting information, including proof of purchase, photographs and details of the suspected defect where requested.
- Allow assessment by Clark Tanks to determine whether the claim is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Reasonable direct costs of making a warranty claim may initially be payable by the purchaser. The manufacturer provides for reimbursement where the defect is covered by its warranty or the Australian Consumer Law.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
The Clark Tanks manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Australian Consumer Law provides consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. Depending on the circumstances, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
